space150 Dreams Big for Cambria
New HTML5 iPad-Friendly Brand Website Puts Cambria in Designers’ Hands
Digital agency space150 this week unveils a new iPad-friendly brand website for natural stone surface leader Cambria. Beautifully designed and built in HTML5, the site puts the inspirations, colors and finishes for kitchen and bathroom designs firmly in the hands of designers and couch-surfing consumers in a whole new way.
“The site is all about dreaming,” says Marcus Fischer, CEO, space150. “The first thing a homeowner does when they’re considering to build or remodel a home is to begin dreaming and picturing the finished product. We needed to bring these dreams to life using technology that could just as easily be browsed in a showroom, on a consumer’s mobile phone, or a designer’s iPad as it can on a PC.”
The site features dreamy settings: a twilight forest backdrop complete with shooting stars and stags, or rhinos and cheetahs among a Cambria surface. Built in HTML5, the site uses interactive motion design as opposed to a flash video loop or animation to bring the scenery to life. Features include a mood board for interior designers who can use the iPad’s touch screen capabilities to flip through and demonstrate coordinating paint colors and fixtures to clients. Homeowners can build their personal Dream Board by selecting images and inspirations from a library of handpicked options.
“space150 could have just built us a new website,” says Peter Martin, Cambria’s Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “But instead they’ve created an online experience for consumers to explore our products and company, while interior designers can showcase their clients’ visions effectively. It’s beautifully designed, but the new website is also very functionally progressive.”
